William Donta Lassiter, 19, of the 1600 block of Darren Circle died May 24, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk.
A former student at I.C. Norcom High School, Portsmouth, he was a Portsmouth native and a member of New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville, Portsmouth.
Survivors include a daughter, Jasmine Unique Wynn of Portsmouth; maternal grandparents, Helen Lassiter and Richard Lassiter, both of Portsmouth; three aunts, Sharon Lassiter and Valaria Lassiter, both of Portsmouth, and Sylvia Chavis of Ahoskie, N.C., three uncles, Richard Lassiter, Charles Lassiter and Ronald Lassiter, all of Portsmouth; five great-aunts; three great-uncles; and a host of cousins, in-laws and devoted friends.
He was predeceased by his mother, Shelia Lassiter.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville, Portsmouth, by the Rev. T.M. Steele. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Friday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
