Police arrested two men Monday in the slaying of 19-year-old Joel Knight, who was shot late Saturday night in the 800 block of Washington Ave.
Jerome Davis Minton, 33, and James Wesley Harris, 19, were arrested and then processed at the Police Operations Center, located in the 3600 block of Virginia Beach Blvd., said police spokeswoman Maravia Ebong.
Minton, of the 700 block of C Ave., and Harris, of the 800 block of Washington Ave., were both charged with murder and using a firearm in a felony.
Knight, of the 800 block of Lexington St., died at 12:08 a.m. Sunday at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Police did not release a motive for the shooting. SUFFOLK Teen faces charges after bullet grazes 10-year-old
A 13-year-old boy was charged Tuesday with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony for a shooting last week in which a 10-year-old was grazed by a bullet, police said.
The teen-ager, who lives in the 500 block of Osceola Ave., was standing in front of his house with a friend about 1:20 p.m. when he allegedly fired a the head of the 10-year-old, who lives on Hosier Road.
The child was treated at a hospital and released.
