Martha Pierce Turner, 87, formerly of Portsmouth, died June 1, 1997, in Newport News.
Born in Portsmouth, she was the widow of John Hudgins Turner. She was a retired cafeteria worker for the Virginia Beach Public School System.
Survivors include a daughter, the Honorable Judge Joan T. Morris and her husband, Dr. Thomas E. Morris of Newport News; a grandson, Dr. Mark Beale and his wife, Sonya of Charleston, S.C.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Thomas T. Reynolds. The family will receive friends at (NU)8 Oakland Drive, Newport News, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Eastern Virginia Medical School.
