Burwell R. Gallop Sr., 75, passed away June 1, 1997, at his home.
Mr. Gallop was born Nov. 13, 1921, in Currituck County, N.C., son of the late John C. and Lydia Wright Gallop. He was the owner of Gallop Bus Lines and Gallop Tours.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betsy L. Gallop; a daughter, Darlene Hooks of Virginia Beach; grandson, James Hall; stepdaughter, Sue Lee Hall, and stepson, Richard Hamill, both of Chesapeake; two stepgrandchildren, Stephanie Hamill and Allan Hamill; a nephew; and several nieces.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513 or Sentara Hospice, c/o Dorothy Weeks, 8 Koger Center, Suite 201, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
