Martha Pierce Turner, 87, formerly of Portsmouth, died June 1, 1997, in Newport News.
Born in Portsmouth, she was the widow of John Hudgins Turner. She was a retired cafeteria worker for the Virginia Beach Public School System.
Survivors include a daughter, the Honorable Judge Joan T. Morris and her husband, Dr. Thomas E. Morris of Newport News; a grandson, Dr. Mark Beale and his wife, Sonya of Charleston, S.C.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Thomas T. Reynolds. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Eastern Virginia Medical School. Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
