LILLIE C. BROWN

Lillie Collier Brown, 86, of the 600 block of Walnut St., died June 2, 1997.

A native of Durham, N.C., she was the daughter of the late W.H. and Minnie Hogan Collier and the widow of Earl Russell Brown Sr. Mrs. Brown had retired from St. Regis Paper Co. and was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and its T.E.L. Sunday School Class.

Survivors include five children, Earl Russell Brown Jr. and his wife, Frances, of Norfolk, Ruth B. Baker and her husband, James, of Elwood City, Pa., Helen B. Joyner of Suffolk, Betty B. Garrison of Charlottesville and Robert J. Brown and his wife, Jeane, of Franklin; 22 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter and son, Juanita Cross and W. Lewis ``Doc'' Brown, and two grandsons.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Sycamore Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Reginald Warren. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Wright Funeral Home.
