EVELYN E. ALSTON

Evelyn Elizabeth Alston, 83, of the 200 block of Luray St., the wife of the late Alexander Alston, died June 2, 1997, in her home.

Retired from the Chesapeake School System, she was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, and many civic organizations.

Survivors include a son, Theron Alston of Chesapeake; sister, Grace Delk of Norfolk; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Covenant Presbyterian Church, 913 Covenant St., Norfolk, by Dr. Octavius Gaba. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Covenant Presbyterian Church Building Fund. Family and friends will assemble at 248 Luray St., Chesapeake, Friday an hour prior to the funeral.
