Gregory Michael Evans Sr., 44, of the 8300 block of Orville St. died June 2, 1997.
A field technician for Canon USA, he was a Portsmouth native.
Survivors include his son, Gregory M. Evans Jr. of Norfolk; father, Sammy Evans and his wife, Agnes, of Chesapeake; sister, Carolyn Dykes of Chesapeake; several nieces and nephews, including Angela Myers, her husband, Scott, and their children, Crystal, Britne and Opal, Mandy Van Vactor and her husband, Kenny; and many special friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Evelyn M. Evans; and his brother, Larry M. Evans.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by Pastor Sebert W. Rorrer. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapeltoday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. He was a loving and caring father, son, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed.
