IRVING C. HOUSH

Irving C. Housh, 87, of the 700 block of Harway Ave. died June 5, 1997.

A retired U.S. Navy CPO with 25 years of service, he was also a registered sanitarian for the Virginia State Health Department.

A Thayer, Mo., native, he was a charter member of Fleet Reserve Association Branch No. 40, Chesapeake. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and Korea.

Survivors include his wife, Veronica W. Housh; daughter, Mary Shroyer of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Heather Shroyer Dowdy of Fort Chiswell, Va., and Laurel Shroyer Hanke of Austin, Texas.

A fleet reserve service will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, Sunday at 7 p.m. A prayer service by Father Timothy Drake will follow and the family will remain until 8:30 p.m. to receive friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date in St. Matthew's Catholic Church. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the building fund of St. Matthew's Catholic Church.
