Gracie W. Baker, 62, of the 500 block of Spectator St., died June 6, 1997.
Mrs. Baker was born in Ivor, Va., and was the widow of Wallace A. Baker. A teacher for 35 years, she retired from the Portsmouth public schools. She was a member of Beulahland AME Zion Church in Ivor, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and Portsmouth Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include a daughter, Chandra Lewis; four sisters, Ida Harrison, Willie Crocheron, Adelene Cosby and Vivian Warren; three brothers, Dr. Lemuel Warren, James M. Warren and Marvin H. Warren; two grandchildren, Mikisha Lewis and Mechelle Lewis; and a son-in-law, Eddie Lewis.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Beulahland AME Zion Church, Ivor, by the Rev. William E. Logan. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Fisher Funeral Home, Portsmouth, from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
