ON THE MOVE: CLASSES FOR RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY MANAGERS

The Hampton Roads Chapter of the National Association of Residential Property Managers, chartered a year ago, will sponsor two classes June 27-28 at the Omni Waterside hotel.

A class in residential property management maintenance will be conducted June 27 by Steve Urie, president of Mesa Verde Property Mgmt. Inc. of Mesa, Ariz. Urie is a founding member of the NARPM and has 15 years experience in property management.

RPM operations will be taught on June 28 by Fred Richter, president of Richter & Associates Inc. of Northville, Mich., who has been a real estate broker for 28 years and is also a tax accountant.

Franklin Hall III is president of the local NARPM chapter and an agent with Re/Max Central Realty in Virginia Beach. ``Hampton Roads has one of the highest percentages of residential property in the United States,'' he said, attributing this to the large military population.

In addition to the classes, the local property managers are sponsoring a dinner Thursday evening (June 26) at 6 featuring Bob Machado of Sacramento, Calif., president of the NARPM.

The cost of the classes - not including the Thursday dinner - is $225 for members, $280 for nonmembers. For further information, phone Hall at 498-7001 or Judy Shanks at 873-4978.
