Emma N. Tinglan, 77, died June 12, 1997, in a local hospital.
A native of Pennsylvania, she was the widow of Donald M. Tinglan. She was a homemaker and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and the Golden Rule class.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon T. Wright and Mary C. ``Tina'' Barnes and her husband, Bennie Barnes of Norfolk; son, Donald L. Tinglan of Norfolk; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; adopted daughter, ``Lil' Mary'' Hughson of Norfolk.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Fred J. Braswell. The family will receive friends in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hope House Foundation, 100 W. Plume St., Suite 244, Norfolk, Va. 23510. In her life, she touched a lot of hearts, as her heart was always open and a smile was always present on her face.
