Richard Hawks Renn, 85, of the 3600 block of Hartford St., died June 14, 1997, in his home.
Mr. Renn, a native of Portsmouth, retired in 1978 as treasurer of Bruce Flournoy Motor Corp., Norfolk. He was a member of Monumental United Methodist Church and a former member of the Portsmouth Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Laura Whitehurst Renn; two daughters, Laura Renn Burnham of Suffolk and Kate Renn Shepard of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth Lee of Chesapeake, Richard R. Keel of Norfolk, Mary Kate Shepard and Laura C. Shepard, both of Charlotte; two great-grandchildren, Rebecca Keel and Thomas Keel, both of Norfolk. Also surviving is a sister, Ernestine Renn Boyce of Portsmouth; and a twin brother, William Ernest Renn of Virginia Beach.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Monumental United Methodist Church by the Rev. Raymond H. Edmonds. Burial will be private in Olive Branch Cemetery. Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, is handling arrangements. The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at their home.
