Roger Eugene Fairchild, 57, of the 3000 block of W. Bonner Drive died June 21, 1997, in a local hospital.
Mr. Fairchild was a lifelong tractor-trailer driver. He was a veteran of the Army and National Guard.
He was predeceased by his father, Russell Fairchild; and a brother, Arlie Fairchild.
He is survived by his wife, Marty Fairchild; two sons, Bernie of Virginia Beach and Tracy Fairchild of Norfolk; his mother, Pearl Fairchild of Philip, S.D.; two brothers, John of Virginia Beach and Don Fairchild of Tyro, Va.; two grandchildren, Christa Fairchild of Virginia Beach and Samantha Wright of Chesapeake.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. The family will gather in the lounge of the funeral home following the service. ILLUSTRATION: Photo KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
