Dorothy Mae Cook Foster, 59, of the 3200 block of Pryor Court, died June 23, 1997.

She was born Oct. 24, 1997, in Halifax County, Va., the daughter of the late Robert Edward and Annie Mae Peck Cook. She was the wife of the late Mitchell E. Foster and a manager for Norfolk Florist at Dominion Towers. She was a Baptist.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah McKeon and her husband, Kevin, of Downingtown, Pa., and Sheila Bickers and her husband, Michael, of Chesapeake; one stepdaughter, Carol Ford of South Colton, N.Y.; two stepsons, Thomas Foster of Aydlett, N.C., and Michael Foster of Norfolk; sister, Maude Jefferson of Gibsonville, N.C.; two brothers, Curtis Cook of Virgilina and Archie Cook of North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Kristen and Ryan McKeon and Kyle, Lauren and Lyle Bickers; two stepgrandchildren, Jill and Cindy.

A funeral will be conducted in Twiford Funeral Home Chapel, Chesapeake, Thursday at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in Powell's Point Christian Church Cemetery, Harbinger, N.C., at 3 p.m. A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday in the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
