BARBARA P. MCREYNOLDS

Barbara Pate McReynolds, 60, of the 1300 block of Dena St. went to be with her Lord July 1, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

A school teacher, she worked 29 years for the Chesapeake Public Schools. She was a native of St. Louis, Mo., and a member of Portlock United Methodist Church, Chesapeake, and a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, member of United Methodist Women, Scouting coordinator of Portlock United Methodist Church and president of the Retired Teachers Association and a volunteer at School After Retirement. She held a bachelor of science in education degree from Southern Illinois University.

Survivors include her husband, John T. ``Jack'' McReynolds of the residence; two sons, Jon McReynolds of Chesapeake and Lou Anthony and his wife, Karen, of Aydlett, N.C.; mother, Martha Quesinberry of Lockport, Ill.; sister, Brenda of Lockport; brother, David Pate of Illinois; grandchildren, Brandon McReynolds, Jenna and Jessica McReynolds; and many friends.

She was predeceased by her father, John McKee Pate.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Portlock United Methodist Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Ellen Comstock. The family will be at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Portlock United Methodist Church, Chesapeake. Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
