Rose & Krueth Realty Corp., Hampton Roads' second largest real estate company, and ERA Trotman Real Estate announced merger plans Monday.
The new company will retain the Rose and Krueth name.
Rose & Krueth has been expanding for the past couple of years and was attracted to Trotman's good reputation in Chesapeake, said Craig Rahl, the company's general manager. Ed Trotman, founder and owner of his one-office operation, has retirement plans.
Rose & Krueth, which has offices around the region and about 250 agents and staff, will maintain Trotman's Kempsville Road office and absorb about 28 agents.
