Computer maker Gateway 2000 Inc. said Tuesday federal antitrust regulators have cleared the way for its $194 million acquisition of Advanced Logic Research Inc. Gateway's offer, which was made directly to Advanced Logic shareholders, is scheduled to expire at midnight on July 22. Gateway 2000 plans to buy Advanced Logic, one of its rival computer manufacturers, for $15.50 a share in cash. Advanced Logic Research, based in Irvine, Calif., had 1995 revenues of $192.4 million. Gateway 2000, based in North Sioux City, S.D. and which as a Peninsula plant, had 1996 revenues of $5 billion.
