HOMER G. AMBURGEY

Homer G. Amburgey, 71, of the 3100 block of Chalfin St., died July 3, 1997, in DePaul Hospital.

Born in Hindman, Ky., he was a Baptist and a Navy seaman first class. He was a retired salesman for Mary Jane Baker.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Amburgey; three daughters, Betty-Joyce Bercaw, Karen Lynn Hollowell, both of Norfolk, Cassie Jean Townsend of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Peggy Lennon, Connie Amburgey, both of Taylor, Mich.; two brothers, Leon Amburgey of Howell, Mich., Jon Amburgey of Emmalena, Ky.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at noon Monday in Rosewood Memorial Park by Pastor Joe Sustarsic. Friends may join the family from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
