JAMES E. DAIL

James Earl Dail, 80, of the 700 block of N. Paxton St., died at his residence on Saturday, July 5, 1997.

Born in Pasquotank County, N.C., he was a veteran, having served as a lieutentant commander in the Navy during World War II. He retired from Maritime Refrigeration Shipping.

He was the husband of Marie Jicha Dail and son of the late John William and Bessie White Dail.

Besides his wife, survivors include four sons, Russell Dail of Mount Vernon, Va., Gary Dail of Springfield, Va., Bruce Dail of Annandale, Va., and Gregory Dail of Chesapeake; three sisters, Evelyn Dail Dunbar of Port Charlotte, Fla., Ruby Dail Olsen of Melbourne, Fla., and Annie Dail Beattie of Elizabeth City, N.C.; and three grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Moseley officiating. Visitation will be in Everly Wheatley Funeral Home, Alexandria, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 7 p.m. today, with a service beginning at 7 p.m. Another visitation will be held in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Twiford's Memorial Chapel is in charge of local arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
