EULA J. PHELPS

Eula Jones Phelps, 85, formerly of White Dogwood Trail, died July 9, 1997.

A native of Laurinburg, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Hanniable David and Laura Hodges Jones and widow of Oscar Willoughby Phelps. Mrs. Phelps retired in January 1974, after 30 years as co-owner of Phelps Gulf Service. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, the Junto Woman's Club and the Fellowship Club of Crittenden.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Nellie P. and William A. Wall of Colonial Heights; a grandson and his wife, William O. and Linda Wall of Chesterfield; a great-grandson, Christopher R. Wall of Chesterfield; and a sister, Eloise J. Harrison of Colonial Heights.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Ebenezer United Methodist Church by the Rev. Carl J. LeMon and the Rev. R. Eugene Larkin. Burial will be in St. Luke's Cemetery, Smithfield. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church from 11 a.m. until service time. Memorial donations may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 1589 Steeple Drive, Suffolk, Va. 23433.
