EMMA VEKASY

Emma Vekasy, 95, of the 400 block of Woodberry Drive died July 10, 1997.

A native of Hungary, she was the widow of Steve Vekasy and was a retired professional cook. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth ``Elsie'' Doka and her husband, Alexander, of Chesapeake; son, Steve Vekasy and his wife, Yvonne, of Long Island, N.Y.; four grandchildren, including two granddaughters, Valerie Doka of Virginia Beach and Donna Vekasy of San Antonio, Texas, and two grandsons, Robert Doka of Virginia Beach and Stephen Vekasy of Keene, N.H.; and four great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church by Father Christian Haydinger. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. A Christian Wake service will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, Sunday at 2 p.m. and the family will remain to receive friends until 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
