CATCHING A STORM-SPAWNED WAVE

Randy Washaburn, 25, of Virginia Beach, rides the face of an

Atlantic breaker in Cape Hatteras, N.C. Tropical Storm Claudette,

which was about 190 miles east-southeast of Cape Hatteras late

Monday afternoon, has created some high surf along the Outer Banks

of North Carolina. The storm is expected to turn away from the
