Sylvia Morris Hughes, 73, of the 2400 block of Youngmans Road, died Tuesday, July 15, 1997, in a Portsmouth hospital. She was a native of Durham, N.C.
Survivors include a daughter, Gwendolyn Parker of Chesapeake; a son, Charles E. Hughes of Chesapeake; a brother, Kenneth Warren Morris of Springfield, Va.; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Neal Sasser. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
