VERNON L. WILKINS

Vernon L. ``Gas House'' Wilkins of the 1700 block of Canton Ave. died July 13, 1997.

He was retired from Tarmac America Co. and was a member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters Chapter (NU)822.

Survivors include his wife, Maggie L. Wilkins; three daughters, Carolyn L. Mann of Virginia Beach, Sheila E. Richards of Lignum, Va., Wilda A. Hobson of Lanham, Md.; a sister, Velma Wilkins of Norfolk; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives; a special niece, Betty Braam; two sons-in-law, William Mann and Dean Hobson.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Bethany Baptist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Jake Manley. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
