James L. Britt, 81, of the 2700 block of Portsmouth Blvd., died July 15, 1997, in his home.
A native of Como, N.C., he was the widower of Lee Belle Britt. He retired from Swift Packing Co. with 38 years of service. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include a son, James E. Britt of Portsmouth; sister, Laura Britt of Suffolk; brother, Pete McKinley Britt of Franklin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Ebenezer Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Ben A. Beamer Sr. Burial will be in Mill Neck Baptist Church Cemetery, Como. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at noon Friday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
