HARRISON LASSITER JR.

Harrison Lassiter Jr., 76, died July 15, 1997, in a local hospital.

A native of Portsmouth, he was the widower of Leota Snyder Lassiter. He was a pipefitting inspector at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, retiring after 42 years. He also worked for Snellings Funeral Home and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. He was a member of Naval Masonic Lodge No. 100, Portsmouth, AF&AM.

Survivors include his daughter, Vicki Lassiter Rushing of Portsmouth; three sisters, Virginia Lassiter Mills of Steubenville, Ohio, Ruth Lassiter Miller of Portsmouth and Doris Lassiter Lilley of Chesapeake; two grandsons, Matthew Curtis Rushing and Jason Andrew Rushing of Portsmouth. He was predeceased by his brother, Albert Lassiter.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. W. Thomas Wood. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
