EDNA S. DAVENPORT

Edna Spencer Davenport, 72, of the 1100 block of Virginia Ave., died July 17, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

A native of Creswell, N.C., she was a member of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church, Chesapeake, and the Dorcas Class.

Survivors include her husband, Harold M. Davenport Sr.; daughter, Kay Frances Bell of Chesapeake; son, Harold M. Davenport Jr. of Chesapeake; four sisters, Oneida M. Davenport of Chesapeake, Gracelyn G. Craft of Sunbury, Virginia D. Riley of Chesapeake and Linda J. Granger of Chesapeake; three brothers, Joseph L. Spencer of Chesapeake, Eugene H. Spencer of Hertford, N.C., and Irvin A. Spencer of Lady Lake, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Larry W. Davenport; parents, Lattie Mae Spencer and Eugene Herbert Spencer Sr.; and a brother, Carol Spencer.

A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Amos Eby. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
