SANDRA L. ROYSTER

Sandra Long Royster of the 500 block of Louisa St. found eternal peace when God took her from this earthly trail on July 22, 1997, after a short illness.

She was born Sept. 4, 1946, in Norfolk and was a teacher in the Newark, N.J., school system. Being nurtured in a Christian home early in life, Sandra confessed her faith in God and joined New Central Baptist Church, Norfolk. Sandra graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Norfolk, and attended Shaw University, Raleigh, N.C., where she majored in business education.

Sandra was blessed with a child, Alton C. Royster of Norfolk. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Harriett Baker Long of Norfolk; two grandchildren; five uncles; an aunt, and a friend, George Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her father, Charles Sherman Long.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in New Central Baptist Church, 712 Walker Ave., Norfolk, by the Rev. James Missick. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The body will be placed in the church Saturday at noon. Family and friends will assemble at 545 Louisa St., Norfolk, Saturday at 12:30 p.m. for a funeral procession to the church.
