Hannah E. Lewis, 72, died July 27, 1997, in Sentara Nursing Center, Portsmouth.
A native of Oak City, N.C., she was a retired manager for White Tower Restaurant with 30 years of service. She was a member of New Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and member and vice president of the beautification club and the Noon Day Prayer Band.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon A. Lewis Sr.; two daughters, the Rev. Joyce L. Carcana of Chesapeake and Evelyn L. Edmonds of Portsmouth; son, Vernon A. Lewis Jr. of Portsmouth; sister, Aldonia Knight of Oak City, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Linda H. Lewis; two sons-in-law, Miguel Carcana and the Rev. Curtis E. Edmonds Sr.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Revs. Curtis E. Edmonds and Milton R. Blount. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at 10 a.m. today. The family will be at the home of the Rev. and Mrs. Curtis E. Edmonds, 1556 Crystal Lake Drive, Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the funeral service. The body will be taken to the church at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
