Thomas F. Landeck Sr., 79, of the 8100 block of Chesapeake Blvd., died Aug. 2, 1997.
He was a retired quality control specialist for the Naval Air Rework Facility. Mr. Landeck was born in Washington, D.C., in 1917. He retired from the Naval Air Facility after 30 years of service, after which he went to work for the Commissioner of Revenue's Office in Norfolk and became director of the inspection division. He retired from that position in 1979 after 10 years of service. He then went to DePaul Medical Center where he gave 500 hours of service as security officer in the emergency room.
Mr. Landeck served in Vietnam and the Philippines as a quality control specialist in the repairing of battle damaged aircraft. He was a member of Crossroads Lions Club.
He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Gaskell and her husband, Tom of Windsor, Linda Marshall of Norfolk; two sons, Thomas Landeck Jr. and his wife, Sally of Poquoson, Va., Steve Landeck and his wife, Sue of Ohio; nine grandchildren, Stock Dinsmore of Virginia Beach, Kim Burke of Chester, Va., Greg Landeck of Suffolk, Todd Landeck of Mechanicsville, Va., Jamie Chandler of Hampton, Chris Landeck of San Francisco, Meghan and Matthew Marshall, both of Norfolk; four great-grandchildren, Meighan Burke and Marybeth Burke of Chester, Stephanie Chandler and Amanda Chandler of Hampton; two sisters, Leona and Carolyn; two brothers, Kenneth Landeck and Frank Peterson; numerous nieces and nephews.
The body will be taken from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, to Forest Lawn Cemetery where a graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday by Fr. Frank S. Blair. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
