Laura Ruth Parker Raulerson, 83, of the 100 block of Craigy Court in Kill Devil Hills, N.C., died Sunday, Aug. 10, 1997, in Chesapeake.
Mrs. Raulerson was born in Arcadia, Fla., and was the daughter of the late John Newton and Laura Ruth Thompson Parker. She was also predeceased by two sons, Charles Leo Raulerson Jr. and Don Henry Raulerson, and a granddaughter, Pamela Pratt Hayden. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Chesapeake, where she also taught Sunday School and was a member of the Girls' Auxiliary. Mrs. Raulerson had been in the Coast Guard Flotilla for 13 years, where she had also served as commander.
Survivors include her husband, Charles L. Raulerson, also of Kill Devil Hills; her daughter, Doris June Pratt of Chesapeake; her son, John Lee Raulerson of Sunbury, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
