Retired Senior Chief Petty Officer Donald Ross Alexander Jr., 52, passed away Aug. 16, 1997, at his home.
Mr. Alexander was born March 15, 1945, in Pittsburg, Kansas, son of Donald Ross Sr. and Bernice McGlothlin Alexander. He was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 5 and N.C.O.A. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Cecil H. Carpenter.
Survivors include his loving wife, Fiona Alexander; a son and daughter-in-law, David R. and Pamela Alexander of Norfolk and his daughter, Fiona Michele Alexander of Norfolk; a sister-in-law, Jean Carpenter; nephews, Mark Carpenter and Brian Carpenter and his wife, Brenda; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces in Scotland.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in Calvin Presbyterian Church by Pastor Bob E. DeWitt. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall after the service. Interment will be Thursday, Aug. 28, at 2 p.m. in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Calvin Presbyterian Church, 2901 E.
