Sammy Earl Horne, 49, of the 100 block of Maxwell Ave., died Aug. 23, 1997, in a local hospital.
A native of Sampson County, N.C., he was a retired dump truck owner and operator. He was also a Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Linda S. Horne; his mother, Eva G. Horne of St. Pauls, N.C.; two daughters, RaeShel Horne and Ashley Horne; one son, Sammy E. Horne Jr.; one sister, Dorothy Jimenez of Miami; and two brothers, Jimmy Horne and Richard Horne, both of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Horne.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, in Sturtevant Funeral Home Chapel by Mr. George Montgomery. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
