WILLIAM E. DRYDEN JR.

William Earl Dryden Jr., 62, formerly of Norfolk, died Aug. 22, 1997.

He was retired from Naval Facilities Engineering Atlantic Command, Norfolk, after many years of service. Mr. Dryden was a member of River Road United Methodist Church. He was a member of Corinthian Lodge No. 266 AF&AM, the John Walters No. 68 Chapter of the Royal Arch, a past commander of Grice Commandary No. 16KT, all in Norfolk. He was also a member of the Society of American Military Engineers and numerous historical and genealogical societies.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Frances Hanbury Dryden; two sons and daughters-in-law, David Earl and Betty Dryden of Pittsford, N.Y., and Carlton Reynolds and Cheryl Dryden; and five grandchildren, David Jr., Ashley, Nathan, Joe and Aaron.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today in Westhampton Memorial Park. Woody Funeral Home, Parham Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
