VICTOR C. SHANK

Retired U.S. Navy BMCM Victor C. Shank died Saturday, Aug. 23, 1997, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 81.

A 1934 graduate of Hampton High School, he had lived in Florida many years after retiring from the Navy. Mr. Shank moved to Virginia Beach two years ago.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Violet Schott Shank; two daughters, Patricia S. Quintin and Jean A. Shank; four grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Phoebus Section of Hampton National Cemetery by the Rev. Alan G. Reifsnyder. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
