Gracie Mae Holland, 68, of the 3600 block of Sagewood Road died Aug. 26, 1997, in her home.
A native of Mobile, Ala., she was a civil service employee retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility with 14 years of service. She also was a nurse at Portsmouth General and Maryview hospitals and a former member of Stone St. Baptist Church, Mobile.
Survivors include her husband, Luke T. Holland Jr.; two daughters, Fannie Bishop of Norfolk and Gracie Bowers of Portsmouth; and two sons, Luke T. Holland III of Hampton and Bruce W. Holland of Houston; sister, Mary L. Smith of Mobile; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; an aunt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Ebenezer Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Winston Simmons. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery, Suffolk. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at noon Friday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday.
