Elmo Davis Wilson, 79, of John Alden Road, died Aug. 29, 1997.
Mr. Wilson was born April 29, 1918, in Boykins, Va. He was the son of the late Samuel J. Wilson Sr. and the late Mary Davis Wilson and the brother of the late Samuel J. Wilson Jr. He was a retired auditor with the Department of Defense and a veteran of the U.S. Army and Marines, serving in World War II and the Korean War. He attended Baylake United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Lynnhaven Lions' Club.
Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn C. Wilson; a daughter, Cassandra Ellis Wilson of Norfolk; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Barbara and Allan Sadler and Sandra and James Porter, all of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Wilson Clair and his wife, Margaret, of Alexandria and Scott Sadler, Jonathan Sadler, Carolyn Sawyer, Jeffrey Porter and Jason Porter; four great-grandchildren, Melody, Zachary, Hayley and Caylin; and a sister, Mrs. Mavis V. Turner of Virginia Beach.
A funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Ted David. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
