BERT GREY

Bert Grey, 69, of Virginia Beach, died Aug. 28, 1997, in his residence.

Mr. Grey was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 6, 1928, and had been a resident of Tidewater for 45 years. He was the son of the late Phillip P. Grey and Millie Seligman Grey. Mr. Grey was involved in the credit and collections business for various local retailers and was self-employed in the field for more than 20 years. He served as a first sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1949 through the Korean Conflict. Mr. Grey was active for many years in Brith Sholom Center and was a member of Beth Chaverim Temple and its Men's Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Norma Spiegel Grey; two sons, Andrew K. Grey of Virginia Beach, Wayne A. Grey and his wife, Theresa of Salem, Va.; a brother, Stanley B. Grey and his wife, Rita of New York City; a brother-in-law, Stanley P. Spiegel and his wife, Adele of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; a granddaughter, Sara E. Grey; a grandson, Seth M. Grey, both of Salem; many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in the King David section of Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by Rabbi Israel Zoberman. The family will be at 4709 Valley Forge Lane, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beth Chaveriam or Brith Sholom Center. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
