Dorothea Isaacson Moore, 83, an avid reader and lover of nature and animals, died peacefully in her home after a brief illness. She was surrounded by family.
She graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1936 where she was a member of Phi Omega Pi Sorority.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Moore; six sisters and a brother. Survivors include two daughters, Tanya Bohlke and her husband, Glen of Virginia Beach, April Moore and her husband, Andrew Schmookler of Orkney Springs, Va.; and six grandchildren, Kecia Strangways of Richmond, Todd Bohlke of Virginia Beach, Brent Bohlke of Vail, Colo., Nathaniel Schmookler of Orkney Springs, Terra Schmookler and Aaron Schmookler, both of Baltimore, Md.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel, by the Rev. Marcus Engdahl. The family will receive friends and relatives at 3184 Adam Keeling Road, Virginia Beach, following the service.
