MAYLAND G. WADE

Mayland Gene Wade, 64, of Wade Cove Lane, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 1997, in his home.

Mr. Wade was a native of Knotts Island, the son of the late John M. and Marjorie Waterman Wade. He was a member of the Knotts Island Baptist Church, and had retired from Oceana Naval Air Station as a boiler plant operator. Mr. Wade also served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy White Wade of Knotts Island; two daughters, Theresa Wade Willis of Virginia Beach and Shelby Downs of Knotts Island; two sons, Randolph ``Randy'' Wade and Mayland G. Wade Jr., both of Knotts Island; a brother, Burleigh H. Wade, also of Knotts Island; and six grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Knotts Island Cemetery with the Rev. Frank Jennings officiating. Donations may be made to Knotts Island Methodist Church, 677 Knotts Island Road, Knotts Island, N.C. 27950. Twiford Funeral Home, Great Bridge, Chesapeake, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
