SPECIALS ON BREAKFAST, LUNCH FOODS HELP KEEP KIDS ALERT AT SCHOOL

KEEP THE kitchen stocked with kids' breakfast favorites, and lunch ideas for school days.

Rack & Sack and 3 Stores 1 Roof have assorted 10.2- to 15.2-ounce boxes of Quaker Instant Oatmeal for $1.88, 14- to 15.75-ounce boxes of Frosted Cheerios, Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and French Toast Crunch for $2.38 each, and six-packs of 4-ounce Lucky Leaf apple sauce for $1.28.

Eighteen-ounce jars of Jiff Peanut butter are $1.99, 32-ounce jars of Smucker's grape jelly or jam are $1.29; and 20-ounce packages of Nabisco Oreos are $1.99 at Farmer Jack.

Farm Fresh has eight-packs or gallons of Sunny Delight punch, two for $4, 11-ounce packages of Eggo homestyle or buttermilk waffles, four for $5, and Frito-Lay lunch packs for $1.99.

All varieties of 4.5-ounce Oscar Mayer lunchables are 98 cents, four-packs of Hunt's snack pack puddings are 98 cents and a 20-ounce loaf of Mary Jane sandwich bread is 98 cents at Rack & Sack and 3 Stores 1 Roof.

Don't forget to toss in some fruit. Bananas are 33 cents a pound at Hannaford. Be-Lo has red or white seedless grapes for 89 cents a pound.

Farmer Jack has Bartlett pears for 48 cents a pound and six-packs of Sun Maid raisins for $1.47. Red or gold delicious apples are 77 cents a pound at Farm Fresh.

Other produce specials include celery for 88 cents at Farmer Jack. Purple eggplant is 69 cents a pound at Hannaford. Sweet potatoes are 27 cents a pound at Rack & Sack and 3 Stores 1 Roof, and 10-pound bags of white potatoes are 97 cents at Farm Fresh.

Meat deals this week include lamb shoulder chops and stew for $2.49 a pound, pork tenderloins for $3.99 a pound, boneless top sirloin steak for $2.99 a pound and 4- to 5-pound packages of chicken leg quarters for 49 cents a pound at Hannaford.

Be-Lo has boneless chuck roast for $1.19 a pound, split chicken breast, five pounds or more, for $1.39 a pound and family packs of three or more T-bone steaks for $3.99 a pound.

Turkey breast is 98 cents a pound and country style spareribs or combination pork chops are $1.77 a pound at Farmer Jack.

Farm Fresh has Perdue oven stuffer roasters for 68 cents a pound, Boston butt pork steak for $1.39 a pound and boneless rib-eye for $2.98 a pound.

Boneless bottom round roast is $1.48 a pound and whole fryers are 48 cents a pound, limit three, at Rack & Sack and 3 Stores 1 Roof.

Frozen-food items include 7-ounce Morton pot pies for 33 cents each at Hannaford. Hanover frozen vegetables, 20-ounce bags, and 11-ounce Banquet frozen dinners are 99 cents each at Be-Lo.

Rack & Sack and 3 Stores 1 Roof has half-gallons of Pet ice cream for $1.99.
