DONNA M. GIER-BROWN

Donna Marie Gier-Brown (formerly Havens), of the 300 Block of Woodleigh Road, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 1997, in her residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

A native of Easton, Pa., Mrs. Gier-Brown had retired from the civil service after 22 years of service. She was a member of the Open Door Chapel in Virginia Beach, and an active participant in Angel of Grace Support Group. She was also a longstanding member of Beta Sigma Phi and will be remembered by all the lives she touched with her grace and dignity.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Haven. Survivors include her husband, Richard L. Brown, of Knotts Island; a daughter, Tamara Dicaprio of Chesapeake; a son, Donald Gier Jr. of Fort Hood, Texas; her beloved grandchildren, Nick, Chelsea, and Jordan Dicaprio, Christeen and Alex Gier; her mother, Angelina Potts of Easton, Pa.; six sisters, Gale Malone, Marlene Havens, Barbara Rose, Charmaine Teschner, Charlene Havens, Debbi Kichline; and one brother, William Havens, all of Easton.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Easton, on Saturday, Sept. 6, 1997, at 5:30 p.m. Also a celebration of remembrance will be held at Knotts Island on Saturday, Sept. 13, 1997. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Colonial Crematorium provided information. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
