CHESAPEAKE

STARBUCKS TO OPEN ANOTHER LOCATION: Starbucks Coffee Co. will open at 1412 Greenbrier Parkway on Saturday, Sept. 13. Store hours will be 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday; 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

VIRGINIA BEACH

BOGARDUS RELOCATES: Attorney David P. Bogardus has moved his office to the Birdneck Plaza Building, 1072 Laskin Road, Suite 105-E. Bogardus will continue to practice in the areas of criminal defense, domestic relations and estate planning.

LONGEVITY CENTER OPENS: The East West Longevity Center will have its grand opening from 1 to 5 p.m. today and Sunday. The center, which will occupy 2,560 square feet, is located in the Kempsville section at 4878 Princess Anne Road, Suite 102. The center will introduce fitness instructions including eastern practices such as T'ai Chi, Yoga, Bonsai, Chi Kung, meditation and combines them with the western form of exercises such as aerobics, women's boxing, dance therapy and other fitness programs.

NEWPORT NEWS

SMALL BUSINESS AWARDS CELEBRATION: The Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce will honor this year's Small Business Award recipients at a luncheon at noon Sept. 11 at the Ramada Inn & Conference Center, J. Clyde Morris Boulevard. Cost is $13 for chamber members and $15 for non-members. For reservations, call 766-2000.

CIRCUIT CITY SALES UP: Circuit City Stores Inc. said Friday its total sales for August rose 22 percent. The electronics and appliances retailer said its sales for the month were $757.2 million, up from $618.4 million in August 1996. The company's two major groups, Circuit City Group, the electronics retailer and CarMax Group, a used car and truck retailer, both recorded growth in the quarter. Same-store sales for Circuit City Group rose 4 percent compared to August 1996. CarMax Group's same-store sales rose 11 percent compared to a year ago.
