Craig Eric Lavallee, 23, of the 3400 block of MacKenzie Bay Lane, died Sept. 4, 1997.
He was born March 28, 1974, in New London, Conn. He was employed by the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman and stationed at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Tracy Lavallee of the home; his father and mother, Phillip O. and Cindy Lou Donahue Higgs of Virginia Beach; a sister, Abra Davis of Biloxi, Miss.; and a brother, Phillip Higgs III of Virginia Beach.
A funeral will be conducted in the Chapel by the Sea, Dam Neck, Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Chaplain Bruce Smith officiating. Burial will be private in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. A visitation for family and friends will be held in Twiford's Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, Chesapeake, from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Craig lived his life to the fullest. His efforts to constantly improve himself physically, mentally and spiritually were an inspiration not only to his family, but to those friends who would grow to understand him.
