Edward Familant, 82, a lifelong Peninsula resident, died Sept. 7, 1997, at Williamsburg Community Hospital.
Mr. Familant was a lifelong member of Adath Jeshurun Synagogue and a member of the Men's Club. He was a member of Brith Sholom and a charter member of the Williamsburg Elks.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Betsy Goodman Familant; and two sons, Louis M. Familant of Baltimore and David N. Familant of Buffalo. He was the last surviving member of the Davis and Sophie Familant family.
A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. today in the Hebrew Cemetery by Rabbi Yosil Rosenzweig. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 753 Thimble Shoals Blvd., Suite 2-B, Newport News, Va. 23606 or Adath Jeshurun Synagogue, 12646 Nettles Drive, Newport News, Va. 23606.
