CORNELIUS DIGGS JR.

Cornelius ``C.C.'' Diggs Jr., 57, of Harbor Court, passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 1997, at Maryview Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

A native of Suffolk, he was the son of the late Cornelius and Dorothy Gregory Diggs. He served in the U.S. Army for three years and was retired from the Norfolk Naval Base after 23 years of service. After retirement, he received his captain's license and was a part time fishing guide in the Florida Keys. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Suffolk.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Shelton Diggs; his father-in-law and mother-in-law; four sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; several cousins and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Suffolk, by Fr. Wayne Hodge. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Crocker Funeral Home. The family will assemble at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home for the procession to the church. The body will be placed in the church Thursday by 12:30 p.m. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
