John Wesley Long, known as Johnny Boy, died Sept. 6, 1997, in Bayside Hospital.
A native of Virginia Beach, he retired eight years ago as a longshoreman with ILA after 28 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Edith E. Long; a daughter, Hilda Long of Virginia Beach; three sons, Floyd Long of Portsmouth, Robin Long of New York City, Michael Bellinger of Henderson, N.C.; a god sister, Flora Mitchell; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and freinds.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Morning Star Baptist Church by the Rev. Charles Williams. Burial will be in Jones Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at the residence at noon Saturday for the funeral procession. Hale Funeral Home is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
