Jennie Eva Harrell, 77, of the 100 block of Riverpoint Crescent, joined her Lord, beloved husband, James W. Harrell Sr., and baby daughter, Jennie Margaret, in Heaven, Sept. 10, 1997.
She was born in Edgecombe County, N.C., to the late Daniel Abner Bland and Williamann Tolson Bland.
She leaves behind four sons, James W. Harrell Jr. and his wife, Gloria, Daniel M. Harrell and his wife, Ruth, Howard J. Harrell and his wife, Sarah, and Phillip E. Harrell and his wife, Claudette; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends.
She devoted her life to working for her Lord, helping everyone who needed her, much above and beyond the call of duty. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a friend to all.
She was a member of Old Wilson Road Church of God, N.C., past member of Westhaven Church of God, Portsmouth, Scotland Neck Church of God and Garner Church of God, both in North Carolina, and most recently attended Churchland Assembly of God with her son and his family. She will be greatly missed by all, until we meet her again in Heaven.
Friends are invited to family visitation at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. The body will then be transported to Scotland Neck Funeral Home, Scotland Neck, N.C. for a visitation from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Scotland Neck Funeral Home by the Rev. Tony Bossolono and Rev. Larry O'Brien. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Scotland Neck.
