HERITAGE DAY TO SPUR INTEREST IN GUINEA MUSEUM

THE GUINEA Heritage Association of Gloucester County will host its third Guinea Heritage Day from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Union Hall, Union Baptist Church, Route 216, in the Achilles section of the county. The event is free and open to the public.

The association's Historical Preservation Committee is in the planning stages of opening a Guinea museum. The event is part of the committee's effort to record and preserve information about Guinea's past, including its fishing and farming traditions. People with ties to Guinea are encouraged to attend and share a story, old photograph or memorabilia.

Tables will be set up to display items. A photographer will be on hand to photograph pictures, a copy machine for copying documents, and a log book to record all artifacts brought for viewing. Other items of interest for the show, or to donate to the future museum, include memoirs, genealogies, farming or watermen's tools, household artifacts and period clothing.

For information, call committee chairwoman Jeanie Woo at (804) 642-4352 or write to the Guinea Heritage Association, Historical Preservation Committee, P.O. Box 411, Bena, Va. 23072.
